Premium synthetic lubricant manufacturer, Royal Purple, today announced that its highest performance motor oil, XPR, will now be available to consumers in an all-new viscosity, 10W-60, later this year. Specifically designed for use in race engines under the most extreme conditions, XPR provides an extra layer of protection above and beyond standard racing oils, including those with additional aftermarket additives.
The new viscosity comes as a result of Royal Purple’s close relationship with several professional race teams and the feedback the company received in competition during the 2014 season. Prior to being commercially available, XPR 10W-60 was rigorously tested in a number of professional race series including Red Bull Global Rallycross, Rally America and the TUDOR United Sportscar Championship.
Widely recognized by racers for increasing horsepower in their cars and extending engine life by reducing friction and providing unparalleled protection, Royal Purple’s XPR contains a unique and particularly robust additive package. Included in this package is Royal Purple’s proprietary Synerlec® technology which creates a high-strength ionic bond with metallic surfaces, preventing oil and other lubricants from breaking down like regular oil and increasing the oil’s ability to outperform under conditions of sustained heat and pressure.

XPR 10W-60 will be available in quarts, quart cases and five gallon pails beginning in November 2014 at select retailers nationwide and online, including Pep Boys, O’Reilly and Autozone stores. In addition to the 10W-60 viscosity, XPR is also available in the following weights:

• 3.1 0W-5 – Royal Purple’s lowest viscosity engine oil designed for the most competitive racing classes such as Pro Stock, Pro Stock Bike, Comp Eliminator and NASCAR Cup qualifying
• 0W-10 – An ultra-light viscosity motor oil formulated for gasoline engines. Commonly used in drag racing, motorcycle sprint racing, etc.
• 5W-20 – Royal Purple’s light-viscosity motor oil excellent for drag racing and specially formulated to work with exotic fuels such as alcohol, methanol and nitrous oxide
• 5W-30 – This synthetic motor oil blend is extremely versatile and produces excellent horsepower while preventing wear. It’s commonly used for oval track late model stock cars and bracket racing
  Royal Purple’s XPR 10W-60 is engineered for race engines and provides superior protection over leading competitors
• 10W-40 – Capable of withstanding long intervals of extreme heat, it works especially well with alcohol and methanol and is extremely popular for use in competitive marine applications, oval track and endurance car racing.
• 20W-50 – One of Royal Purple’s heaviest viscosity motor oils, 20W-50 is formulated for racecars running extended periods under extreme pressure and heat. It is used in oval track, marine and drag racing and is very popular in sprint cars, late models, truck pullers and bracket racing
